Bio
Stretching for sound and groove that speaks to the present moment, Highline Drifters original material creates an eclectic mix of imagery, creative soundscapes, with themes ranging from conservation, navigating mountainous and foreign countries, heartbreak, and mystery. Audiences are guaranteed to experience the dynamics of groove, deep time, and swinging that get up and move. Highline Drifters are an original, acoustic, rhythm-driven music collaboration tastefully weaving together many musical genres in search of new sounds and textures. The band traverse’s bluegrass, Americana, acoustic rock, reggae, Afro-pop, jazz, and funk styles through dynamic improvisations, danceable rhythms, and seamless transitions. Along with their original music, on any given night the Drifters work into their set familiar traditional bluegrass standards and contemporary roots music by the Wood brothers, Tim O’Brien, Taj Mahal and many more. Highline Drifters have played for regional audiences at outdoor events and festivals including, Monarch Festival, Logan City Limits, Canyon Jams, Logan Summerfest, chocolate festival, Prey for Snow Avalanche, Loggers Ball, and Paris Fest.
